Skatezine.com :: Skateboarding By Skaters
The DIY Gnarly Punk Rock Skateboard Network

From the Polaroid to the Xerox machine the DIY industry has been putting out Zines for years. Now with the internet and all the free resources, it has become extremely simple to start a blog complete with images and streaming video. Here is the problem… the small DIY skate or punk website gets lost in the internet. The goal for Skatezine.com was to develop an online environment where skaters and punk rockers could come together and promote their skills, music, and more. This is not a social network to chat about your uneventful lives. The idea is to give the hardcore a place to exchange information and promote their projects (videos, photos, songs, events, skate spots).

Photos: Professional or amateur photographers can publish their portfolios of skateboarders or punk lifestyles.

Skate Videos: Two ways to showcase your skateboard flick or punk rock music video. You can embed the video from your you tube.com account. Or contact us about having your account upgraded to a publisher. Skatezine publishers can upload videos directly to their account.

Events: Publish an event (skateboard contest, punk rock show, convention, etc) with a description and photos. Invite other Skatezine members to attend by using the invite guest application. Members can initiate a discussion by posting a topic or upload photos about the event. The upcoming events will be displayed on the home page and in the network feed.

Music: Bands can promote their original or cover tunes. Members can upload their favorite music to set the mood for their profile or custom skatezine home page. All non original music or cover songs that is uploaded is the member’s responsibility to obtain permission to post from the artist or author.

Directory Liting: A directory of our members favorite skate spots. Complete with map and directions. Members can upload pictures of skate sessions for other folk to view and comment on.

Unity: This is the section of the website that showcases all the gnarly account owners categorized by member type (skater, band, skate shop, skate park, etc…). You can search or sort the accounts to locate the Skatezine member profile and media.

Promote your skate videos or shows. advertise events, contest, and shows on the calendar. Share your favorite skate spots with maps to the location and pictures of sessions. Skatezine.com was created to promote the underground of skateboarding and punk rock. Create a free account and start promoting your local rippers or punk rock scene today.
